Traveling While You’re in Treatment?

If you’re planning to travel and are worried about missing medication, we can help you understand your options.

Traveling doesn’t have to interrupt your treatment. Our team is here to make the guest dosing process clear and worry free - so you can focus on recovery, knowing your care is covered.

What You Need To Do Before You Travel

  • Contact a Care Coordinator

  • Share your travel plans

  • Complete the Courtesy Dose Form < does the patient do this if they contact the CC?

  • If no answer, please leave a message.

  • Please wait for a call back before calling again.

The sooner you let us know your travel plans the better. Please notify your counselor or a Care Coordinator as early as possible so we have time to coordinate your guest dosing or take-home arrangement.

🕑 Aim to give at least 5 - 7 days’ notice < Whats CD standard timeframe? We need to have one.

Traveling to Columbus and Need Medication Services?

If you’re enrolled in another opioid treatment program and traveling to the Columbus area, CompDrug may be able to help based on availability and clinical criteria.

CompDrug offers guest dosing to individuals enrolled in another opioid treatment program who are traveling away from their home clinic. If you are traveling to the Columbus area and need to guest dose while in town, your home treatment facility needs to fill out a Guest Dosing Request.

What YOU need to bring

  • Photo ID

  • $20 Daily Payment, unless Ohio insurance

  • A lockbox or bag is required on Saturday for Sunday & Holiday take-home medication

What YOUR clinic must send

  • Guest dose request

  • Medication order

  • Signed Authorization
