Medication Pick-Up Using a Designated Other
In limited circumstances, patients who cannot come to the clinic because of a serious medical condition may be approved to have another person pick up and deliver their medication. This person is called a Designated Other.
How the Designated Other Process Works
Request & Review
Patient discusses the need for a Designated Other with CompDrug medical staff. The Case Review Committee reviews the request and supporting medical information.
Complete Required Forms
If the request moves forward, the patient completes the required release and medication pick-up authorization forms.
Designated Other Screening
The proposed Designated Other completes the responsibilities form, provides a valid government-issued ID, and completes CompDrug’s screening process.
Medication Pick-Up
Once approved, the Designated Other may pick up medication following CompDrug’s medication security and chain-of-custody procedures.
