Medication Order Guidelines

To support medication administration within the correctional setting, Armor Healthcare has requested the following:

  • If a patient is on a methadone build-up or taper schedule, dose changes should occur weekly whenever clinically appropriate.
  • All dose change orders should be scheduled to begin on a Thursday.
  • Armor Healthcare prefers patients to receive one dose daily rather than split dosing whenever possible.
  • CompDrug is only able to dispense methadone in whole-number milligram amounts. Please ensure dose orders are written accordingly.
